PRESS RELEASE: Natura &Co demonstrates leading commitment to the responsible recruitment of workers

Natura &Co, which encompasses four purpose-led beauty brands Avon, Natura, The Body Shop and Aesop, has today announced an exceptional package of support for its supply chain to embed responsible recruitment practices.

Recruitment and the supply of temporary, contract and seasonal labour have been identified as presenting amongst the greatest worker exploitation risks in supply chains. In line with the Group’s Commitment to Life: 2030 Sustainability Vision and its goals dedicated to the protection of human rights, Natura &Co has become the latest organisation to sponsor the Responsible Recruitment Toolkit (RRT). The Toolkit will enable its suppliers to achieve and demonstrate responsible recruitment, through free access to an online capacity building and self-assessment tool, guidance resources and interactive online training.

“At Natura &Co, we are committed to tackling modern slavery and protecting vulnerable workers, and are pleased to announce this unprecedented suite of support for our suppliers, and the labour providers/recruiters that they work with, to achieve consistent high standards of responsible recruitment. More than 38,000 suppliers in 56 countries will be entitled to free support, helping to ensure we minimise the risks of worker exploitation and maximise the fair and ethical treatment of jobseekers and workers”.

Pins Brown, Natura &Co

“We’re thrilled that Natura &Co has joined our ten sponsors of the Responsible Recruitment Toolkit in providing the tools and training to enable its supply chain to achieve and demonstrate responsible recruitment practices. Natura &Co’s sponsorship will help to drive improvements in a wide range of countries around the world.”

Hannah Newcomb, Managing Director, RRT

Natura &Co will be contacting its suppliers (commencing with a small group of Avon and The Body Shop suppliers in the EMEA region) to encourage them, and any labour providers/recruiters that they use, to take full advantage of the free support and guidance available through the Responsible Recruitment Toolkit.

Companies committed to embedding responsible recruitment and interested in providing the same substantial benefits to their supply chain should enquire about RRT Sponsorship at: info@responsiblerecruitmenttoolkit.org
