Gillian Haythornthwaite

Gillian has over 30 years of HR experience and has held many HR roles at both operational and group level. An independent consultant, Gillian is a qualified HR expert and social compliance auditor, specialising in Ethical Compliance and HR Support/Expertise. In her role as Head of Policy for the Association of Labour Providers, she focuses on supporting members through developing policies, practical guides and capacity building workshops that address issues important to labour providers. Gillian has a proven record for supporting businesses to overcome challenges of sourcing and retaining workers and building a culture of inclusion and engagement. As part of the Clearview Technical Advisory Committee and Steering Group, Gillian has provided significant input into the development of the Clearview Standards. Passionate about ensuring businesses get the best out of their people through improving their working lives, Gillian is excited about supporting businesses on their Responsible Recruitment journey.

Joanne Young

Experience:

Temporary Labour Provision, Food Industry & Ethical Compliance

Joanne Young has over 32 years of experience in temporary labour supply policy and process. She was one of the pioneers of on-site supply and is passionate about the ability of flexible labour to add value to the supply chain when used correctly.  Joanne served on the Board of the Gangmasters Licensing Authority for 9 years, and was an active member of the Association of Labour Providers Members Council and the Technical Advisory Committee of Clearview. A strong advocate for social responsibility in labour provision, Joanne led the team which won the only BITC Responsible Business Award so far awarded to a generalist employment agency; was instrumental in the introduction of an apprenticeship programme for temporary workers; and over the years has provided advice and guidance to many brand name manufacturers around the topics of flexible labour and legislative compliance.
